2020 DRAFT: Foscue posted a .959 OPS as a breakout star in 2019, earning him All-America honors. He got off to a strong start as a junior, hitting .321/.464/.509 with two homers, four doubles and 16 RBIs in 16 games. A disciplined right handed hitter with an open stance and outstanding balance and rhythm in his right handed swing, Foscue has demonstrated advanced pitch recognition for three years at MSU, and he drew 15 walks against just three strikeouts this spring. His 6-foot, 205-pound frame lacks projection, but his present strength allows him to make good use of his above-average raw power. Foscue’s hit tool figures to carry him, and he is capable of using the opposite field at times, although he pulls most balls that he puts into play at this point. He’s a below-average runner, but not a clogger, and his feet work well enough at second base thanks to his sound instincts and steady actions. He’s a sure-handed defender who turns the double play well, though he’s not the flashiest defensive middle infielder. Given his track record of performance and his innate feel for hitting, Foscue stands a good chance to be drafted in the first two rounds.

7/12/19: With a strong body and mature build at 6-foot, 200 pounds, Foscue is a blue collar ballplayer with a high baseball IQ. He is sure-handed and fielded all that was hit his way on defense. Anticipated well and despite fair quickness, defended with slightly above average range. Showed an average arm. A right-handed hitter, Foscue is a tough out with very good bat-to-ball skills. He sets up with a wide open stance in the back of the box. Takes a long stride while keeping his hands back. Very good separation producing solid pop in his bat; drove the LCF gap on multiple occasions. Stays connected and hits against a firm front side. However, he tended to get his foot down late which made him get out of sequence; used his shoulders and his hands to get the bat to the ball with his hips following the shoulders. He never got full rotation of his hips. Used just half the field from CF to LF. Gets good extension with a high finish. Slow out of the box. Ran 4.50 down the line on a ground out to the left side, yet is an average runner underway. What Foscue lacks in tools, he makes up with instincts and the ability to play the game; the sum of his talent is greater than the parts. Profiles at the next level as an offensive second baseman with an early in Day Two talent package. (Seifert)
