6/19/19

Did a ton of nice things on the day and has really seemed to refine his game. The skills are there (6.81 60 yard dash, 92 mph from the OF and 91 mph off the tee). Where he showed big time improvement was on the mound as the FB was up to 88 MPH and he sat 85-87 mph. Showed much more pitchability and is not just a hard thrower. The breaking ball took nice shape with tight spin and when located, is a definite swing and miss pitch. Does a nice job of getting his weight back to the launch position of the swing and the hands and barrel stayed short. No wasted actions in the swing as he uses a small leg kick approach. The ball really jumps of the bat. Especially to the pull side. Throws from the OF were very accurate and the ball really carried out of the hand. This is an uncommitted ’20 that shouldn’t stay uncommitted long.

9/18/18

Alabama-Huntsville commit. 5-foot-11, 180-pound two-way prospect, does everything in an athletic fashion with quick twitch movements. Appeared on the mound in the semis of the PBR Cup in a tough situation with his team trailing. Arm works long with quick arm speed to a high ¾ slot. Relied primarily on his fastball, sitting 87-89, touching 90, pitch has running action and a ton of life. Struggled with command but showed he run his fastball in on the hands, will break bats with and create weak ground ball contact.

9.23.18- had a great day all the way around. Showed legit speed in the OF and on the bases (4.2 Home- 1B). Had the top OF velo on the day at 88mph and made perhaps what was the play of the day on a soft sinking liner in RF that he came up and made a diving catch on. At the plate, worked uphill through the zone which created some tilt and allowed for balls to really jump off of that bat. Had two very loud at bats during the game from a slightly open stance. A truly “toolsy” player. A definite 2020 to follow.
