7/31/22

Connor Crossland has a strong and compact build with an interesting hit tool. Very strong and balanced in the set up at the plate. Wider base with a no stride approach. He is very simple and lets his strength take over. His balanced set up keeps him in a great position to hit, and he stays in that balanced position all the way through contact. Crossland recorded Team Arizona's top EV during the workout at 97 mph, and recorded a 100 mph EV on a double to deep LFC in game action vs Team Alabama. The hit tool for Crossland is certainly his best tool. Crossland's future defensively is still to question; however, we do know that it will be on the corners. Potential power hitting corner infielder/corner outfielder.

Positional Profile: 3B/1B Strong and physically mature, profiles as a power hitting corner infielder with some swing and miss. Will be following offensive progression.

Body: 6-foot-2, 215-pounds. Above average size and strength.
Hit: RHH. Simple setup. Base is just outside of shoulder width. Hands held just above shoulder with some rhythm.  Small up and down stride. Elbow drops down into slot early. Has a loop in his swing, creates some inconsistencies with contact. Produces some good bat speed.
Power: 89.89 max exit velocity, averaged 78.73 mph. 339’ max distance.
Arm: INF - 80 mph.  Arm strength plays from the left side, good consistent timing to release. Gets the ball out quick.
Defense: Direct routes to ball and quick to release. Footwork and range work best on the corners.
Run: 7.50 runner in the 60.
