Devin Long, the current #6 prospect in the state of Arizona and the #1 arm in the 2026 class, dominated in his outing at the 2024 Future Games. Long pitched 4 innings, tallying 8 strikeouts while allowing only 1 hit against some of the top uncommitted bats in the country. His outstanding performance earned him the Dicks Sporting Goods Player of the Game award. Throughout his 4 innings, Long consistently sat at 89-90 mph, topping at 91 mph, and effectively pounded the zone with a 4-pitch mix. With his skill set and command, Long has a true starter profile that extends well beyond his high school career.

Delivery: Starts on the Left side of the mound with a smooth delievery and ability to locate all pitches
Arm Action: RH
FB: T90, 87-89 mph. FB has great velo and has some rise to the fastball, Projects as a very constient swing miss FB T2296, 2151 average rpm.

Devin Long:

 

Tall, slender frame at 6’2”, 170. Has ability to run with a 7.24 in his 60. Tall and balanced setup at the plate. Uses a toe tap before drawing the hands back to create torso stretch before footstrike. Rotates forcefully, hands working to the middle of the field. Clearly a strong swing with 95.6 Max Exit Velo, could benefit from more lift. In the field, long strides make up for tentative footwork. The arm strength is clearly there at 88 OF Velo, but needs to reduce glove-to-release time to maximize effectiveness of the arm. A live arm on the mound, he stays tall while riding the back leg down the slope effectively. Uses an aggressively high leg kick with a high ¾’s arm slot. Creates a lot of spin on all three pitches (curveball, slider), with excellent armside run on the fastball. Overall a talented athlete with clear strengths and room to grow.
