Positional Profile: 1B/RHP
Body: 6-2, 190-pounds. Tall, big bodied frame, strong lower half, has gotten noticeably leaner since the last time we saw him.
Hit: RHH. Athletic wide base, balanced stance, forced knee turn leg lift. Downward swing plane, mid/ pull approach. LD/FB contact. Some quickness in the hands.
Power: 89 mph exit velocity via Trackman.
Arm: Right-handed. INF - 75 mph. Showed some arm strength with a quick release. Lower arm slot.
Defense: Improvements to athleticism have helped his feet at first base. Fields the ball out in front with quick athletic footwork. Plays through the ball with soft usable hands.
Run: 7.80 runner in the 60.
Delivery: Fluid delivery, coiling over the rubber. Drop & drive approach. Lands closed with recoil finish.
Arm Action: Right-handed. Showed above average arm speed with a short stab, throwing out of a H3/4 slot, some effort.
FB: T77, 75-77 mph. Cutting action.
CB: 63-65 mph. Gradual 11/5 shape.
CH: 66-68 mph. Some armside movement.
XL 6’1” 185lbs build, big legs with some present strength. Starts from strong balanced upright base with hands starting behind back foot. Loads hands deep with vertical barrel. Long flat swing plane, getting out of the zone quickly. Pull approach with average contact at 81mph. Comfortable fielder with quicker movements than you would think for 8.63 runner. Big body to work with on the mound. Threw a flat FB at 74-76, topping at 77mph with higher arm angle. Threw gradual 11/5 CV at 57-61mph with stiff wrist. In line direction, landing square. Some forced glove/hand separation in delivery. Regular effort.
