Positional Profile: 1B/3B Arkansas commit with offensive upside and power potential.
Body: 6-1, 195-pounds. Strong build, increased athleticism of late.
Hit: LHH. Simple set up at the plate, base is shoulder width, slightly raised back elbow, and an athletic bend in the knees with good posture. Uses a knee to knee stride while generating power into his back hip. He is slow and controlled in the box until he explodes at contact. Huie has the ability to let balls get deeper than the average hitter at his age. We've seen him use the whole field in the past, and now the pull side power is starting to show. Huie left the yard multiple times in BP with a max distance of 345 feet. Most of his offensive work was done to the pull side on this day.
Power: 92.8 max exit velocity, averaged 86.1 mph. 345’ max distance. Creates true ball flight with power potential at the next level.
Arm: RH. INF - 75 mph. Easy arm action from a high 3/4 slot. Plays at 1B, need to see more arm strength for him to accel at 3B.
Defense: We have seen large improvements from Huie's foot and glove work. He is starting to understand hops and the hands are working softly.
Run: 7.77 runner in the 60.
