Game Performance

2/13/25

It's tough to run away as the stand out at Dawgs Scout Day, yet Piasentin put on one of the most impressive performance we've seen at a Canadian Scout Day. The Miami commit is physically different from his peers, standing 6-foot-3, 205-pounds, but he looks bigger in person. At the plate it was one of the more violent rounds we've seen, with all his swings reaching a hard hit percentage of 100. His swings were loud, reaching a max exit velocity of 108.2 mph, an average of 105.4, and a max carry distance of 402 feet. Defensively his arm is advanced, with multiple throws in the upper 90s. Easily one of Canada's top prospects in the 2025 class.

7/29/23

There’s lots to dream on with the frame and bat with Piasentin. The Coquitlam Reds product looks the part in the box with a short, quick left-handed swing with consistent, easy lift on contact. He didn't have any hits today, but he turned on an inside pitch for hard contact to his pull-side. In the workout portion of the event yesterday, he drove multiple balls deep to his pull-side with a max EV of 95 mph. Piasentin will continue to be a good follow at the plate in the next two games here in Georgia.

6/02/23

Piasentin is one of BC’s top 2025 prospects. Standing at 6-foot-3, 190-pounds, Piasentin used all of that frame to his advantage at the 2023 Future Games Trials in North Vancouver. On the mound Piasentin delivered fastballs that sat at 84-85 MPH and topped out at 86 MPH Piasentin also flashed a solid curveball at 69-72 MPH, while his change up ranged between 76-78 MPH. Offensively, Piasentin displayed a smooth and aggressive swing with a strong ability to drive the ball to all fields. Piasentin exhibited plus power to the pull side which was supported by a top exit velocity of 88 MPH. From a defensive perspective Piasentin showed good rhythm and range on the infield. Along with these clean actions his arm strength was shown by reaching 83 MPH across the diamond. His athleticism was also demonstrated in his 6.8 second 60 yard dash. A true two-way player at the top of the 2025 grad class.
