NCA Underclass ID - Medium, long frame full filled with sloped shoulders. Inline runner with compact stride (8.00 60yd). Tall, balanced stance with high hands and high flared elbows. Big leg kick with flat bat on back shoulder putting weight into back leg showing posture and balance. Hands work back and up getting to strong launch position; barrel is quick working on upward path driving through contact. Strong ability to stay behind the ball and swing has full turns with high finish. Drove the ball through the middle of the field with carry and flashed some future pop to the pull side of the field (83 EV). Wide controlled feet moving through the ball well; high hips with actions to make the plays at 3rd and flashing decent range. Mid-3/4 slot with loose arm able to make throws on the move (78 MPH). Bat projects more strength and frame can tighten up allowing him to play corner INF/OF spot.
10/7/18 - Central Coast Open - 6-foot-0, 180-pounds, sturdy frame with chance to pack on size and strength in the coming years. Tall stance at the plate with a toe tap while loading high hands back deep into shoulder. Quick hands work directly to the ball creating leverage and being able to pull ball into gap (80 MPH exit velo). At 1st base showed high hips and some stiffness in his hips while still showing some side-to-side range with a late glove. The arm has some longer actions and was regularly online with his throws (71 MPH).
Pitcher - On the mound works with his hands at the waist that lift up on front knee before a glove tap allows the longer action to work to a wide 3/4 release point. Controlled and fluid delivery. Good tempo and balance. Lower half is stable and good on-line direction, lands slightly closed and creates some leverage with on-line extension. Smooth arm action with fastball (72-73 mph) that he occasionally lost to the arm side. No breaking ball, threw a split-finger fastball (64-67 mph) with some falling action and kept down. Change-up (66-68 mph) that he works to turn over. Stuff is a bit short but the delivery, arm speed and his body type could all lead to progression on the mound.
