Body: 5-10, 185-pounds. A medium frame that is well proportioned. Hit: RHH. Sets up in a wider base with an upright body and loose/low hanging hands. Doesn't utilize a stride, just turns front foot open to clear hips. Hands and bat work up in his load. Swing path is steep but has good bat to ball skills and found the barrel more often than not. Middle of the field approach. Power: 87 mph exit velocity. Bat speed average of 70mph and rotational acceleration average of 17gs show a decent power ceiling. Better utilization of the lower half would produce more power. Arm: RH. C - 74 mph. Quick and snappy arm action on throwdowns. Some present tail on throws resulting from lack of extension. 5/6 accurate throws on throwdowns. Defense: 2.01-2.19 pop times. Sets up in a wide but deep crouch. Clean and quick footwork on throwdowns. Decent blocking on balls in front but trouble moving to his right. Run: 8.21 runner in the 60.
10/20/18 - Los Angeles Open - Five-foot-7, 145-pounds, medium frame that projects for growth in part due to his long limbs and his large feet. Has some wiry strength through the shoulders into the arm while the chest/core are catching up. Thick from the backside down into the thighs with noticeable strength. The freshman shows loose hips that he uses to sink into his crouch from which he's quick to throwing position after receiving the pitch. Caught the ball on the ''way up" from his crouch resulting in strongest, most accurate throws. Shows athleticism when blocking at the plate with quickness to the ball and the throw. Offensively he shows a tall setup with a short stride/leg kick through the swing. Sets hands and attacks the ball. Shows a knack for backspin and line drive ability presently. Sets and maintains barrel on plane consistently. All around game projects for an uptick with added strength and reps.
