11/2/19: Standing 6-3, 215 with a burly strong body working from a tall delivery with an easy swinging leg kick using a short arm action to overhand slot, Hobbs profiles as a two-pitch reliever working one inning in the outing seeing Cal square up two balls for extra bases (2B/HR). Worked slowly and pausing on hill during a delivery that hid the ball fairly well utilizing his lower half with shorter stride and heavy backside effort down the hill causing some head whack. FB 89-91 straight, muscled up utilized on both sides of the plate though finding the middle more than he’d have liked. CB 78-80 tight and hard with short depth and quick break. Cutter 86 seems like a show third pitch, currently behind the other two. FB will need to add velocity to make leaps for MLB role, but could be effective in short stints for SMC.
