Lanky 6-foot-4, 195-pound frame, that will transition nicely to the college ranks where he will be able
to develop physically even more as a freshman. Long arms and big hands. Is very athletic on the mound
for his height, and displays a highly competitive demeanor on mound. Whipping arm action, high leg
kick and release from 3/4 slot, locates his fastball well, works nose over toes very well; keeps the ball in
lower-half of strike zone. Threw his fastball consistently in the 83-85mph range for most of the game,
touching 86mph on occasion. Fastball had nice movement running in on left handed batters. Changeup
displayed in the 76-78mph range. He also flashed his curveball that showed nice bite late in the strike
zone. Also mixed in a slurve at times, with a tight sweeping spin, that starts at the batter and breaks
sharply across the plate. Made a few pick moves to first base, which he conceals well, imitating his
movement to home. Almost picked off two runners, one of which should have been called out. He is a
competitor, and pounds the strike zone early and often.
