6-15-15
Currently ranked No. 4 in the 2016 class and committed to North Carolina. 6-foot-3, 180 pounds. Weiss started against Oklahmoa Gold on Saturday of the tournament and was consistently 87-89 mph. Weiss went 4 innings giving up 2 runs striking out 7. Weiss has great projectablility and a loose arm, reasons why people are very excited about him. In relief against Mississippi Weiss came in and was still 89 mph. Curveball still shows a good 12/6 tight spin. Mississippi would manufacture a run off Weiss which came off a walk, sac bunt, stolen base to 3rd and a sac fly. When Weiss gets solid fastball command he could be a dominant pitcher.
4-28-15
No. 4 2016 and No. 63 overall. Committed to North Carolina. 6-foot-3, 180 pounds. One of the best pitching prospects in the state this year, threw a little lower than previous outings this season, sitting around 85-88mph most of the day. Threw his curveball pretty well today, 12-6 break, sitting at 70-71mph. Throwing from the ¾ slot, fastball has a slight run into RH batters.  Noticed on occasion his front-side flying open which gave him some control issues.  What stood out the most for me today was on a batter he fell behind on in the count 3-0, he battled hard working the count full, and ended up striking out the batter on a great outer half on the black fastball.  This kid competes very well and is staring to show how projectable he is.
3-16-15
Committed to North Carolina. Currently ranked No. 4 in 2016 class and 63 overall. 6-foot-3, 180 pounds. Starting to get going this spring. In Rocky Mountain Scrimmage on 3/14/15 was throwing 84-87 hitting 89 twice. Curve ball was really fooling hitters with late, sharp 12/6 break. Today touched 90 sitting mostly at 88. Has a quick easy delivery with easy effort and very loose arm. Had a nasty 76-79 mph circle change. Very projectable.
3-14-15
Committed to North Carolina. Currently ranked No. 4 in 2016 class and 63 overall. 6-foot-3, 180 pounds. Very loose arm and very projectable. 84-87 Fb, 89x2, 70-73 CB, curve was really fooling hitters, late sharp break 12/6. Quick delivery, easy effort.

August-2014
Weiss continues to improve. Closer for Slammers 16U Black team, has a 3/4 arm slot and easy delivery with long loose action. Has a good 11/5 CB. Touched 90 at the end of the summer. With lean frame highly projectable once he fills out frame.
July-2014
Weiss, son of former MLB player Walt Weiss and current head coach of the Rockies is starting to make some noise and gain a lot of interest. Weiss continues to improve. Closer for Slammers 16U Black team this summer, he has a 3/4 arm slot and easy delivery with long loose action. Has a good 11/5 CB. Touched 90 at the end of the summer. With lean frame highly projectable once he fills out. Weiss stands in at 6-2 and weighs in at 160. Weiss did not get any mound time in spring of 2014 for Regis due to a senior dominated pitching staff. Look for Weiss to be a key contributor for the returning Continental League Champions and 2014 5A State Finalists.
