2022, Brooks Gerig, a right-hander on Regis Jesuit, was outstanding today challenging hitters with a mid 80s fastball and a breaking ball that induced soft contact and allowed the defense to work. He challenged hitters and was up to pitching a big game, working six complete innings and giving up only three runs. Gerig's arm worked well on the day.

6-foot-2, 170-pounds with small side transitions to pivot. High leg-lift, toe down, with coil to balance. Back-side in drop and drive delivery early. Aggressive, attacking stride slightly closed and working against body. Long deep hook arc to a high ¾ release full extension. Glove side leverage creates strong torso rotation, follow through pulls to first base side. Fastball was 82-84 with sinking movement. Curveball 64-65 with gradual break in zone and potential. Changeup was 73 with good arm speed and in zone. Brooks demonstrated tempo and strikes, as well as aggressive and confident movements. Would consider him a top follow in the 2022 class with a high ceiling.
