Carey is a big, projectable left-hander with a low ¾ release. He pitches from the stretch with a repeatable delivery and a good mix. Fastball sits 78-80 with very good arm side run. Slider is 61-63 with sweeping action. He also throws a cutter at 68-69 and locates in-zone. Can see him giving left-handed hitters problems with his + movement and plus command. More strength still to come.

Has a small leg lift into a neutral landing position. Has a small coil at the top of leg lift to generate power. Has a smooth ¾ arm action. Does a good job of throwing all of his balls with conviction FB:76-80, CB 63-65, CH 69-70 will add velo as strength increases.
