Game Performance

Notes

Comments

3/30/22

His conversion to the mound has been impressive.  Smith pitched from the stretch and showed repeatable delivery. 6 innings, 5H, 3ER, 9K’s. FB 88-89 with some sink. High ¾ release with quick arm action. SL 76-77 with two planes late break.  Competitive and pitched with good tempo. Strong upside as Velo continues to rise.

8/22/21

Two-way player with a strong performance on the mound. Shows strength as a hitter with lift and loft in swing. Strong rotational acceleration and max effort swing. Exit velocity of 94.8. As converting right-handed pitcher, his fastball was up to 90, sitting 86-90. It's a quick arm with max effort delivery. Raw talent with room for development. More velocity in the tank for Smith.

12/15/19

Positional Profile: OF/RHP
Body: 5-foot-9, 175-pounds
Run: 7.94

Hit: Right-handed hitter with a simple base, leg lift and slight coil to stride. He creates momentum with stride to balanced launch. Front side dominant at launch. Minimal movement with hands to load.  Direct path to ball with plus bat speed. Exit velocity of 86 mph. Repeatable path and demonstrated middle of the field approach. Follow through has length with one handed extension and exaggerated rotation.

Power: Aggressive swing habits with strength and length. Strong potential for power with great skill progression.
Arm: 76 mph from the outfield where the arm works well.
Defense: Actions were simple with good hand/eye coordination. Footwork created foundation to throwing. Good catch to release.
