6-foot, 170-pound left-handed pitcher. Had an outstanding outing at the event as he possesses very good stuff on the mound. The fastball touched 85 mph with true left-handed run to it. The spin pitch is good, tilt and depth, sat at 73 mph. The changeup is excellent, fade and sink to it, sat at 70 mph. Throws the changeup with good fastball hand speed. The delivery is online, deception with the glove as it goes high to low as he gets into foot strike. Tracking of the front shoulder can help add velocity to hsi craft. Plus feel for pitching based on what I saw, 1.26 in the stretch, as he can handle the running game.
11/2/16
6-foot-1, 170-pound, wiry strong, with very good athletic ability. The frame has strength to it, shoulders are sloped, strong and put together. A left-handed pitcher, currently ranked at 94th in New England, the recruiting is starting to heat up for him, being recruited by multiple division one schools. The delivery builds momentum, has good tempo and repeats it for the most part. The stride is a slightly short, could long it out, could stay behind baseball just a split second longer. The arm action is down to up on the backside with a very small hook at the bottom part of the path. The baseball comes out of a high ¾ slot and works downhill extremely well, all pitches were down in the zone. The fastball was the best that I’ve seen it, got it to 83 mph, as he works on longing the stride, velocity should continue to climb. The breaking ball was clocked as high as 72 mph, with solid 11/5 break, was able to locate it to the back foot of a right-handed hitter. With the breaking ball being firm, another sign the fastball will jump at some point. The changeup has a chance to be a serious pitch at the next level, clocked at 68-70 mph, has proper fade and rotation to it. Times to the plate were good at 1.37, has been coached and groomed very well, high follow should be someone to see early and often in the spring.
7/12/16
6-foot-1, 170-pounds, long, lengthy athletic frame, shoulders are sloped, back is wide and he has plenty of room to fill out. A left handed pitcher, delivery is repeatable with easy effort. Leg raise is under control and separation is on time. Stride is slightly shorter, could lengthen it out slightly. Arm action is clean on the backside, with all his pitches coming out of the same ¾ slot. Pounds the fastball for strikes, clocked at 78-81 mph, 2-seam has some action to the arm side. The breaking ball was clocked at 65-68 mph with good shape and tilt to it. Change up as chance to be a big time pitch, clocked at 66-67 mph. In game performance was good, attacked hitters from both sides, all pitches thrown for strikes. Offensively, hits from the left side, stance is slightly wider open to even, path is level to up, with a one handed finish and hands loose off back shoulder. Tee exit velocity is 85 with whip and life in his swing. Time down the line 4.77 seconds. Defensively, plays first base and shows good actions with feet and hands.
3/1/16
6-foot-1, 170-pound, long athletic frame, has plenty of room for future development. A left-handed pitcher, the delivery is simple from both the set position and windup. The hands are set chest high, with an easy controlled leg raise. The separation is clean, arm path is a little longer on the backside, works with easy effort, stride direction is in line, but could be slightly longer. The ball comes out of a smooth ¾ slot, fastball 77-79 mph, had some life to it, with much more in the tank. The changeup is his best pitch, plus feel, natural fade to arm-side and was clocked at 65-71 mph. Threw both a curveball at 62-65 mph, and a slider at 68-69 mph. The slider is more of a put away pitch, located it well to glove side. The tempo of the delivery could be picked up, might help the velocity. This one has a chance, get out and see him.
