Alexander Grant: LHP/1B, (2024) Avon Old Farms, CT. Northwestern Commit, 6-foot-5, 195-pound athletic mature build. Above average on the mound, showed lightning arm speed with a quick loose arm action and a high ¾ arm angle. Tall-and-fall up-tempo type pitcher who uses some effort. Displays downhill shoulders and a strong balance point. Lands square with an athletic finish. Sat with his fastball at 84-87 mph; showed both sides of the plate control and sinking action with heavy movement. (Max spin 2354; Avg 2212). His changeup (77-80) has fading action and arm side control. He showed glove side command and sweeping late action on his 11/5 slider (72-75). (Max spin 2512; Avg 2347).  Shows a power arm with life to stuff.

6-foot-4, 160-pound, lengthy and long, with room for added weight gains, back is wide with broad shoulders. Raw during batting practice, the left-handed hitter's best exit velocity was 80 mph. Starts in a wide stance with a smooth arm bar load, then uses a short stride. Has a flat to upward swing plane, average bat speed and high finish. He barreled up some balls with loud contact. Pull side approach. Recorded a time of 7.63 in the 60-yard dash. Projectable on the mound, showing good arm speed he used a high ¾ arm angle and a loose arm action. Tall-and-fall type pitcher and shows easy effort. Tall balance point with in line shoulders. Lands square with an athletic finish. Sat with his fastball at 70-74 mph; shows control low in the zone and sinking action. He showed glove side command and slurvey action on his 11/5curveball 60-63 mph.  Love how the arm and body work off the mound, look for an increase in velocity at some point.
