2021 Scout Day: CT Blue Jays - Quick Hits
- Samuel Benedict, 2022, LHH, an athlete, runs ok, ran a 7.21 sixty-yard dash, balanced in the box, showing line drives to all fields. Clean smooth actions in the infield, arm was 84 mph across the diamond.
- Ryan Kolodziejzcyk, 2022, RHH, bigger body, the exit velocity was up to 95 mph, showed lift and loft to the swing, enough juice to beat the outfielders. Power potential.
- Owen Stephens, 2022, RHH, stronger frame, low squat at plate, good lower half, swing is strong, gap juice to all fields. An above average arm across the diamond, plus flight and carry. Might be a guy off the mound down the road.
- Marion Izzo Jr., 2022, RHH, very strong, plus bat speed at 95 mph, level to up path, big juice to all parts of the field.
- Lucca Izzo, 2022, RHH, short quick stroke, hammered the baseball to the opposite gap, hands are really good through the hitting zone.
- Kasey Oullette, 2022, RHH, simple balanced approach, taller stance, level path, drives it to all fields, had an exit of 94 mph, with minimal effort. Plays a solid outfield, are up to 84 mph.
- Jacob Benedict, 2022, RHH, level path, hard contact in batting practice. Athletic and strong, good bat to ball skills.
- Austin Bolhman, 2022, LHH, super athletic, level path, put on a show in batting practice. The hands are very strong. A plus runner, ran a 6.77, had an exit velocity of 96 mph. Showed athletic actions at first, could go to the OF as well.
- Devin Brown, 2022, RHH/RHP, showed well on both sides of the field. Simple line drive approach at the plate, a very good runner, ran a 6.87 sixty. Defensively, good actions, projecting more at second base. Off the mound, at strike thrower with all three pitches, down in the zone.
- Sal Dastoli, 2022, RHH/C, above average behind the plate, can really catch. Pop times of 1.96-2.14. An advanced approach at the plate, line drives to all fields. Very good bloodlines.
- Alexander Grant, 2023, LHP, long and lengthy frame. The arm action is clean and whippy with a ton more left in there. The fastball was up to 74 mph, worked down hill with arm side run. Will need to add strength, has all the makings of something special down the road.
- Brendan Kelly, 2022, RHP, a low to mid 80’s arm, sink and run to fastball, working off some deception. The changeup is a plus pitch, with the breaking ball having depth to it.
- Cameron Fisher, 2023, RHP, a long/loose, whippy arm action, length to the stride, glides out and is on time on release. The fastball only in mid 70’s, look for a huge jump in velocity, mixed in both secondary pitches for strikes.
- Trey Deitelbaum, 2022, RHP, a quick arm righty, continues to get better, the fastball was up to 86 mph, throws a hard breaking slider at 77 mph. The delivery is compact, repeats and is very aggressive. Should be off the board fairly quick, get out and see him.
- Frank Spirito IV, 2023, RHP, powerful arm, fastball up to 87 mph, harder slider at 76 mph. Worked both pitches down in the zone, heavy run to fastball. The frame is durable and strong. Took a solid batting practice with above average bat speed.
