6-foot-2, 175-pound projectable frame ran 4.22 home to first - up from 4.6 two years ago. Offensively - Improvement is a consistent theme; right-handed batter with 86 MPH exit velocity (81 MPH in 2015), has hand speed to let ball travel, will add velocity with lower body engagement. Defensively - Soft hands, smooth transfer from glove to throwing hand, clean footwork used to gain momentum on throw across diamond (73 MPH infield velocity) . Sits back some, could be more aggressive with his approach to the ball, this energy will carry over through his throws.
7/28/15
At 6-foot-1,155 pounds, has a long and lean body. At the plate, hits from a wide base, hands start low, needs a bit more of a load and separation. Needs to let ball travel, rolls it a bit and gets rotational. The tee exit velocity was 81, has good hands speed and the hands work. Time from home to first was 4.6. On defense, showed good actions, need to make feet a bit quicker. The arm across the diamond was 70. On the mound, showed a fastball at 72-75, easy arm action with simple mechanics. Curveball was 54-55, needs to switch to a slider or something that is thrown with more velocity. Overall the pitching mechanics are sound, has good direction, with added strength and physical maturation velocity should increase.
