2017 Future Games

6-foot, 180-pound, average athletic frame. The shoulders are squared off, is well proportioned, lower half has strength to it. A right-handed pitcher, the arm strength is above average, fastball jumps out of the hand. The hands start and stay high, has high powerful leg raise. The delivery builds momentum throughout, leans back after separation, front glove is strong and is inline target. The shoulders could get more parallel to the ground, will help on release point being more consistent with control.   The lead leg direction is slightly across his body. The arm action is clean on the back has average length to it works out of a high ¾ slot. The fastball reached 85 mph, sat mostly at 84 mph. The breaking ball has hard top to bottom break, 68-73 mph. The changeup has correct fade, shape with depth to it, clocked at 75 mph, was thrown for strikes. The outing was better in second inning, pounded the zone. The arm is very good, once he can repeat the delivery, gets the feel for it, performance will take off, stuff is well above average.

7/18/17
5-foot-11, 180 pounds, Talbot has matured physically and made substantial strength gains since his last PBR Event in the summer of 2016. The projectable frame has started filling out, helping him improve his all around game on the mound. He throws from a high ¾ slot and the ball jumps out of his hand. He sits on the backside during his delivery with slight arm jab, but gets good drive off the back leg. The fastball sat 81-83 mph during his outing with good life to it. His 70-72 mph curveball is a true swing-and-miss pitch, with sharp bite and a 12/6 shape. Plenty of depth. His 71-72 mph changeup was the least used pitch, but had good action and could be featured more often in his arsenal as he develops more feel for it. Received an invitation to the Future Games. A high follow.

7/27/16

5-foot-10, 150-pound, long athletic frame, neck is long and shoulders are squared, has plenty of room to fill out. A right-handed pitcher, was one of the better arms at this event. The delivery is simple and repeatable, stays extremely strong on the backside and works downhill with ease, ball comes out of a high ¾ slot. The fastball jumps out of his hand, was clocked at 79-82 mph, will continue to climb. The breaking ball, has depth with more downward break to it, clocked at 67-69 mph. The changeup was thrown for strikes, clocked at 65-72 mph. Times to the plate were 1.35 to the plate. Talbot’s outing was impressive, threw three pitches for strikes, competed at a high level. The projection and ceiling on this one is high, has been coached well with high school and summer club. High follow for me, will be out to see him early and often next year.

11/15/15
A right-handed pitcher, at 5-foot-9, 137 pounds the frame is thin and loose, has plenty of room to add weight. The delivery is easy and repeatable, hands start and stay right at chest, leg raise is clean and gets to a good gather position. The arm action is long and loose which makes believe he's going to throw with some velocity down the road. The fastball was 73-74, slot is a little higher and then ¾, pitches downhill well. The breaking pitch had proper spin to it at 65-66 and changeup was 66-67. Showed the ability to throw all three pitches for strikes with some action to all of them. Times to the plate were 1.71, which needs to get quicker. Definite kid to follow, over the next two years.
