8/23/18

6-foot, 165-pound, advanced athletic frame. Shows to have strength throughout, has room to fill out and put added weight on. A right-handed hitting outfielder who can also move around the infield as well. The top tool are his legs and overall athleticism, very advanced. The sixty-yard dash was recorded at 6.91 on a wet and slow track, strides are long and covers a good amount of ground in the outfield. At the plate, hands are super loose and relaxed, front foot starts slightly open. For timing uses a controlled small stride, hits against a firm front side, back half is engaged. The swing is level across the chest, barrel stays in the zone, finishes high with a one-handed finish. The approach is from gap to gap, more line drives, showed to have enough pop to be able to get the baseball deep into the pull alley. The tee exit velocity was clocked at 85 mph, with more in there as he gains strength. The arm was clocked at 85 mph from the outfield, has above average arm strength, baseball comes out of his hand with ease, real good carry and flight to the baseball. The prep steps are under control, footwork is advanced, steps through and gains ground. The arm action has average length, comes through from a high ¾ slot, throws downhill. Big follow, will be good for someone.

Sixty-Yard Dash: 6.91

Exit Velocity: 85 MPH

Arm Velocity: 85 MPH

2/25/17

5-foot-11, 150-pound, wiry strong athletic frame. The shoulders are squared off, arms are long, forearms have strength to them, has plenty of room to fill out. The athletic ability is advanced, runs extremely well, has an easy kick, sixty-yard dash was clocked at 6.75. A right-handed hitter, the stance is even, shoulder width apart, the hands are set at shoulder height, bat has some tilt to it, starts in a good position. The swing is level to up, creates lift, approach is more to the pull side, BP rounds were solid. Defensively, prep steps are good, gets around the baseball, momentum moves towards his target, works from the ground up, fields the ball out front. The transfer is clean, gets the ball from the glove to hand, arms action is short, clean and works out of a high ¾ slot. The arm was clocked at 72 mph, with a ton more in there. The double play feeds need more reps, has to be in sync with hands and feet, easy fix with practice. Off the mound, this right-handed pitcher, has a controlled repeatable delivery, the hands start high and stay high throughout. The arm action is shorter, works out of a high ¾ slot, it's downhill, located it well to the glove side. The fastball was clocked at 71- 73 mph, needs to get delivery quicker to help move along.  The changeup is his best pitch, comes out of the same slot, clocked at 67-68 mph. The breaking ball was clocked 62-64 mph. Projects for me as more of a position player, the ability to run, strength in his swing, a move to second could happen in the future, arm strength needs to improve, solid follow.

Sixty-Yard Dash: 6.75

Exit Velocity: 81 mph

Arm Velocity: 72 mph

10/29/16

5-foot-11, 150-pound, thin athletic frame, with plenty of room to fill out.  A right-handed pitcher. The hands start and stay high throughout the delivery. The arm action is a little longer on the back side, it works out of a high ¾ slot. The lead arm could stay on target slightly longer, tends to drop off a little. The fastball was clocked at 72-73 mph, threw it for strikes low in the zone. The breaking ball showed proper top to bottom spin, looked like a 4 seam fastball out of his hand, clocked at 63-64, has the makings of being an above average pitch, once the arm gets stronger and quicker. The changeup is still a work in progress, clocked at 65-66 mph. Times to the plate were good at 1.4. Strength and a regimented throwing program will aide in velocity and arm strength.

7/27/16

5-foot-10, 140-pound, thin, young athletic frame, shoulders are sloped, has plenty of room to fill out. On the mound this right-hander’s hands start, chest high and stay there throughout, has a controlled leg raise, repeats his delivery for the most part. The stride is inline with target, the backside has some collapse to it and pulls head off at the end. The fastball was thrown for strikes and clocked at 72-73 mph, works out of a ¾ slot. The breaking ball showed good 12/6 spin, clocked at 65-67 mph, has a chance to be an above average pitch. The changeup is still a work in progress. Offensively, this right-hander hits from an even, balanced stance. The hands are loose and flat at shoulder height. The path is flat through the zone, gets good separation, hands are back and takes a controlled minimal stride. The tee exit velocity was 65 mph, backside lower half could get involved more to help with more strength and power. Defensively, has good prep steps, is in a good position when fielding, fields it out front and throwing action is short. Clocked at 68 mph, across the diamond, had good touch. The backhand was made from the ground up. Strength and first step quickness is a must.
