2/22/20

6-foot, 175-pound right-handed hitting catcher. The skill set behind the dish is solid as he is a very good receiver. He threw 75 mph down to second base with a pop time of 2.01. I would like to see a better accuracy out of the throws as he has plenty of arm strength and quickness. The bat has a tee exit velocity of 84 mph. The setup is wide in base, front foot steps into the swing. The path is long to contact. The frame has some room for growth and additional strength. I think that is the next step in his game

2/23/19

6-foot, 165-pound right-handed hitting catcher. Ran a 4.01 home to first on the turf at the workout. The receiving behind the dish has improved. The securing of the catch is better and he has softened the glove. The pop time is 1.94 and he threw 74 mph down to second. The path is short and simple on the backside and the feet are quick. The bat has a tee exit velocity of 77 mph, physical strength gains are needed. The setup is even in base and uses a knee to knee approach on the bottom half. The path is uphill at times, needs to be flattened out.

7/18/18

6-foot, 160-pound right-handed hitting catcher. Threw 71 mph from behind the dish at the workout. The feet work, the transfer is clean, just needs to gain arm strength as he matures. The receiving is solid, and he shows good flexibility. Pop time is 2.04  The swing has a tee exit velocity of 78 mph as physical strength gains are warranted. The setup is even in base, small bat wrap to start. The path is long and in/out of the hitting zone, slight drop of the hands to start the swing. The path needs to be flattened through the zone to improve contact with the barrel.. Ran a 4.66 down the line on his dig to first base at the event. Interesting prospect as he has improved a great deal since we first saw him.

9/17/17

5-foot-10, 145-pound right-handed hitting catcher. Threw 73 mph down to second base at the event. The transfer and feet work well and should progress well as he physically matures. Pop time of 2.06 at the event. The receiving is coming along well, a continuation of work on softening the glove and securing the catch will help. Ran a 4.8 down the line on his dig to first base. The bat has a tee exit velocity of 75 mph to it. The body needs physical strength added to it. Sets up with his feet wide, uses a minimal hand load to initiate the swing. Small collapse on the back side as he gets into contact. The hands work clean and the path is adjustable with strength gains. Sold prospect.

The slot is ideal for a catch and throw. The receiving is a work in progress, good flexibility and soft hands. The frame is currently thin, needs added physical strength. Ran a 4.8 down the line on  his dig to first base. The bat has a tee exit velocity 78 mph. Hits out of a even base, the hands work freely. Small collapse on the backside as he gets into the swing. The path needs to be flattened as he matures.
