Mason McCarroll: OF/LHP, (2024) East Haven, CT. 6-foot, 160-pound lean athletic frame. Capable during batting practice, Mccarroll recorded an exit velocity of 84 mph. (59.69 mph bat speed average). (19.00 mph hand speed average). Began in a balanced closed stance with a handsy load, then used a controlled small stride. Bat speed is developing, exhibits a flat swing plane and good extension on his finish. Barreled up some balls with loud contact. Pull side approach. From the outfield, he made throws to the infield at velocities up to 81 mph; has a clean developing exchange, smooth consistent feet, and sure developing hands. Fields the ball out front, movements laterally were developing. Showed a high ¾ slot with a long arm action. In the 60-yard dash, recorded a time of 7.51.

Hit: (LHH) Capable. Started in a balanced closed stance with a handsy load, then used a controlled small stride. Developing bat speed. Good extension on his finish, flat swing. Pull side approach.
Power: 84 mph exit velocity, average 77.54 mph. 59.69 mph bat speed average. 19.00 mph hand speed average.
Defense: (OF) Sure developing hands, smooth consistent footwork, clean developing exchange. Fields the ball out front, movements laterally were developing.
Arm: 81 mph outfield velocity. Long arm action, high ¾ slot.
Speed: 7.51 (60-yard).
5-foot-10, 150-pound slim, athletic, with room for added weight gains. Above average on the mound, had a short arm action and a high ¾ arm angle with quick arm speed. Tall-and-fall type pitcher and shows easy effort. Has a tall balance point with even shoulders. Lands square with an athletic finish. Sat with his fastball at 76-79 mph; shows sinking action and command low in the zone. Throws a 11/5 curveball 63-68 mph; that shows slurvey action and glove side control. His changeup 71-74 mph; shows very consistent command and fading action. The delivery works with easy effort, feel for pounding the zone, look for a huge climb at some point.
