Cape Cod: Eligible by age for the 2022 MLB Draft, Halter went unselected after a tough sophomore season in Gainesville where he slashed .240/.338/.380. The left handed hitter rebounded nicely in the Cape with a final line of .307/.407/.507 with seven home runs and 19 RBI. With a sound swing, Halter looked to lift the ball and showed the most power to his pull side with right center as his honey spot. A side effect of his quest for power production comes a higher than average strikeout rate at 25.7% this summer after a spring of 22% for the Gators. On the bases he's an average runner with average instincts, stealing 12 bases in 20 attempts this summer. Defensively, Halter does not project to remain full-time at shortstop, but his defensive versatility is another asset. Overall, the 6-foot-1, 200-pound athlete is just a good baseball player who does everything well — he can run, defend, play multiple positions, and is a left handed hitter with surprising power.
Florida commit. A lean 6-foot-1, 175 pound frame. Broad shoulders. Has shown bat speed and a very easy short swing. Keeps hands inside the ball well. 88 mph exit velocity. Could get into backside better, tends to drift forward, better use of the lower half will translate to power. Had an inside the park homerun and was 5.13 on the turn. Shows a lot of athleticism with a 60 yard dash time of 6.99. He showed solid infield actions and a strong arm with an 81 mph infield velocity. Overall, he shows a lot of potential and athleticism and will be very interesting to see on the mound.
