Another potential Day 1 southpaw, is Ole Miss recruit Jackson Ferris who was very impressive this past week. Fastball was up to 96 mph and was very tough for American Heritage to get a barrel on. Saw a few Sliders that got up to 2740 rpm spin rate, but the pitch wasn't needed as Ferris can compete with the Fastball showing command to both sides of the plate. Mature, repeatable mechanics with a clean delivery to the plate which allowed for Ferris to stay in the zone his entire outing. At 6-foot-4, 195 pounds there is a lot to like in Ferris’s future as he is a name to know.
