5/20/15 - Tall lean loose athletic projectable body. Good actions with softness in the glove and a solid avg arm. Lacks enough range to stay at this position but has good baseball instincts. Makes the routine plays. Also very good on the offensive side as well. Avg type power with good hand eye. Avg type bat speed, stays inside ball well and uses the whole field. Adjusts during at bats. Good hitting instincts. Good all around player. Strength will continue to come. Only negative is below avg runner. Was also up to 889 off the mound. Will be a draft after college.

Comments
3/24/15 - South Carolina commit. 6-foot-3, 175 pound infielder with a tall loose lean projectable body. Went 1-3 today with a hard hit single line drive to right field.
3/23/15 - South Carolina commit. 6-foot-3, 175 pound infielder with a tall loose lean projectable body. Good actions and hands at short stop with plenty of arm. Lacks ideal range for that position but can play there in college or any other infield position. Actions are a bit long. Plenty of arm for left side of infield. Bat has some length but also has some quickness. Barrels a lot of balls up. Good hand eye with a good path. Very confident hitter. Had a single and double today with a lot of hard contact. Below avg runner. Bat will continue to improve with added strength.
2/4 - South Carolina commit. Ranked #25 in Florida. 6-foot-3, 175 pound infielder that also pitches. He has a tall loose lean projectable body that has plenty of room to add weight. He shows athletic actions offensively and defensively with good hands and an above avg arm. Plenty of arm to make the play in the hole. Lacks ideal range but can play there at the college level. At the plate he has an open stance, high hands to start, and a strong load that brings his hands down into an ideal hitting position. Has good bat speed with some loft. Has a good path. Makes a lot of hard contact. Ball jumps off his bat. Has gap power. Against Clearwater he was 2-5 with a double and made consistent, hard contact all game
6/29/14 - Tolbert continued to show athleticism and a knack for making contact. His hands are high and tight, near his ear, in his setup and while his swing has some length, the bat stays in the zone. He can square the ball up to left-center field and has projectable power with leverage in his swing. He'll likely move off shortstop down the road as he matures physically, but he handles the position now with a good first step and body control. In one game he showed solid range with good footwork and a quick release up the middle before taking a good route and going back into short left-center field to catch a blooper.
6/26/14 - A South Carolina resident and recent transfer to IMG Academy, Tolbert is also an interesting two-way prospect with athleticism, projectable power and arm strength. He takes a slightly uphill path to the ball and can get lengthy with his swing, but the bat stays in the zone. He also moves well in the field, exhibiting good body control. He pitched just one inning on the last day, but showed a high-80s fastball with life. He went 6-for-14 at the Tournament of Stars with two runs and four RBIs while striking out one in a perfect inning of work on the mound.
