5/14/15 -  Loose lean projectable body with very good pitchability. FB 86-89 with glove side cut action. Showed an avg ML CV at 74-76 mph. 3/4 rotation with depth. Showed an avg ML CHG as well at 76-78 mph with same action as FB. Very good arm speed. Good pitchability. Throws 3 pitches for strikes. Has had a great HS career. Headed to UF.

2/6/15 - Florida commit. 6-foot-3, 180 pound right hander with a tall loose lean projectable body. Loose working arm with a fluid delivery and high ¾ slot. Hides ball in back. Lands slightly across his body. Has some deception. Fastball has some tilt and glove side cut action to it at 85-88 mph. Misses a lot of barrels. Slider is 77-79 mph with good ¾ rotation. Breaks 2 planes. Strike thrower. Knows how to pitch. Commands the Fastball and throws breaking ball for strikes. Got his 22nd win of his high school career today. 3 innings, 1 hit, 0 BB, 6 K

4/4/18 -6’3/210, Junior- Aggressive righty who attacked the strike zone with three pitches from a high three-quarter slot (video below). His efficiency and command set him apart and allows his stuff to play up. Threw 21 pitches, 17 for strikes during his one and two-third of an inning relief appearance. Worked quick and hid the ball in his delivery for good deception. His sinking 88-90 mph fastball generated swing/miss. Also mixed in a late breaking 78-83 mph slider and an above average 80-82 mph changeup thrown with very good arm speed and big tail/sink at the plate action. Holds runners well and is a better athlete than he looks. With his excellent control and three pitch arsenal, he could follow in ex-Gator closer Shaun Anderson’s footsteps as a college reliever turned professional starter or is he Kyle Hendricks 2.0? Byrne should be selected sometime in the middle of Day Two of the draft.
