6-foot-1, 190-pound long athletic build. Solid during batting practice, Merrix clocked an exit velocity of 92 mph. (66.65 mph bat speed average). (20.05 mph hand speed average). Started in a balanced athletic stance with a controlled low load, then used a short stride. Bat speed was quick, displayed a short uphill swing plane and high finish. In his round he found multiple barrels with loud contact. Aggressive approach. Athletic from the outfield, his best throws to the bases were registered at 86 mph; has athletic rhythmic feet, a quick clean exchange, and soft sure hands. Laterally, movements were twitchy and fielded the ball out front. Had a high ¾ slot and a quick arm action with consistent accuracy to the bag. Showed off his speed at the event, running a swift 6.65 60-yard dash. Solid on the mound, showed good arm speed, he had a high ¾ arm angle with a longer arm action. Drop-and-drive type pitcher who uses some effort. He has in line shoulders with an tall balance point. Lands soft with a recoil finish. Sat with his fastball at 80-85 mph with a max of 86 mph; showed control around the zone and running action with sharp movement. (Max spin 2141; Avg 1955). Threw his 11/5 curveball (70-74) with late action and glove side control. (Max spin 2020; Avg 1716). Has a tight slider (73-75) that shows slurvey action and decent control. (Max spin 1979; Avg 1979). 


Positional Profile: OF/RHP - Uncommitted, Uber athletic with a frame that could add strength as he matures. Solid mechanics all over the field with true two-way talent.
Body: 6-foot-1, 185-pounds. Very long frame. Strength and athleticism with big hands and feet.
Defense: Solid footwork in prep steps. Gets weight behind and momentum coming forward to aid strong throws.
Arm: RH. OF - 87 mph. Long, loose arm. Extends out front with backspin.
Hit: RHH. Tall setup. Slightly open with hands up and barrel flat. Stays level through the zone and finishes high. Short to contact which puts him on the barrel consistently.
Power: 95 mph exit velocity. The long limbs and quick bat could create a nice combination of leverage and torque that could really elevate his game.
Run: 6.85 runner in the 60. Long smooth strides that even out at top speed. Easy runner with a quick burst.

Delivery: Up tempo, rhythmic and consistent.
Arm Action: RH. Long, clean and loose. Low to normal effort delivery.
FB: T84, 82-84 mph. Downhill action. Some sink at times at the bottom of the zone.
CB: 71-73 mph. 12-6 break. Tumbling action and tunnels with fastball.
