Louisville commit, currently ranked No. 6 in the Illinois 2023 class, No. 76 overall. Strong, athletic build, round shoulders with evenly distributed weight, standing 6-foot-1, 205-pounds. Started behind the plate and hit in the lead-off spot for Brother Rice and impressed on both sides of the ball. The right-handed hitter starts in an athletic stance, moving with a quick/repeatable stride into footstrike; his hands start low and work into an uphill path with present hand speed, creating easy lift and effortless power - also putting together quality at-bats and working counts, seeing the ball well and spitting on pitches out of the zone. Behind the plate, Rose is an athletic and willing blocker, moving well into blocking position and deadening the ball out front. His hands work under the ball, actively trying to frame pitches around the zone. His arm looks to have gotten stronger as well, playing with back-spin and guiding throws to the bag with ease. High-level 2023 prospect with a dangerous power/speed combination.
3/22/22
Louisville commit, ranked No. 5 in the state. 5-foot-10, 175-pound frame, muscular, strong lower body. Rose has advanced skills behind the plate, athletic feet with a strong throwing arm. Actively looking to throw behind the runner with a quick, clean release. Deadend the ball near the plate on balls in the dirt. Offensively, hit out of the lead-off spot, athletic stance, slow, controlled load/stride and fluid rhythm. Quick, powerful swing working into both gaps. Rose had a 2-for-3 day at the plate with two runs scored, one RBI, one walk and stole a base.

Louisville commit, currently the No. 1 ranked player in the 2023 class. Muscular 5-foot-10, 175-pound frame. Strong lower body with superior strength in his forearms and hands. Short, compact swing with easy power, ball jumps off the bat. Advanced bat speed and works directly to the ball. Featured a leg kick that kept him in rhythm and on time. Defensively, continues to show advanced ability behind the plate; Frames and presents pitches in and around the zone, athletic/willing blocker. Above-average arm behind the plate for his age. Footwork is quick, athletic and efficient out of the crouch. High-level 2023 prospect.
12/19/20
The no. 1 prospect in the Illinois 2023 class and Louisville commit; 6-foot-1, 190-pounds hulking frame with good athleticism. My first look at Rose, but just a different sound coming off the wood bat. The ball jumped off the barrel during his rounds of BP, showing power to all fields favoring the pull side. Generates great bat speed with quick hands while consistently catching barrels, creating hard contact. Really impressed offensively with the swing and process approach, while showing improvements behind the dish. Handled some top end stuff, showing soft hands and good pitch presentation. Managed the staff well with feedback on pitch action and looks to be developing into an above average defender behind the plate.

Verbally committed to Louisville.

Physically advanced for his age, strong athletic build, with plus athleticism. Multi-positional player who shows above average tools all over the field. Hit tool stood out the most this weekend. Right-handed hitter, using wood showed impressive bat strength and speed. Ball jumped off the bat and showed explosive hands. Lets ball travel with ability to see it well and commit late and still get the barrel to hard pull side contact. Made hard contact in nearly every at bat for extra base hits, 4.75 and 4.80 on turns.
