Cape Cod: With a 3.68 ERA and 21 strikeouts compared to just three walks in 14.2 innings, Moza was one of the best relievers on the Cape while he was there. He’s a quick-armed, athletic righthander who works with four pitches — a fastball in the low 90s, a changeup in the high 70s and low 80s, a curveball in the high 70s and a slider in the low 80s, but he will also manipulate the breaking ball to give it slurvy action that meets in the middle of the traditional curveball and slider in terms of shape and velocity. All of his pitches are usable, but the curveball stands out as his best secondary offering at present.
UAB recruit. Came out of the bullpen in a tight game. Went 5 innings, striking out 2, picking up the save. Arm looks quick as ever, with sharpness to two-pitch-mix. Fastball sat 85-89, T90. Slider at 75-77 stayed in the zone and played very well.
6-0, 165. Moza uncharacteristically struggled with command in the outing tonight; the stuff showed up however. He sat upper 80’s all outing, touching 89 multiple times while showing his normal quick twitch and fast arm. He flashed at times a very solid breaking ball and change up. Fastball command was his demise in this outing.
The top performer of the night for Team Georgia was without a doubt 2021 RHP Aidan Moza (North Cobb Christian). A quick twitch athlete at 6-foot-1, 165-pounds, Moza is built with lean muscle, still physically maturing. He continues to impress with his athletic ability, fast arm and big time spin. Moza shut down a team Carolina offense that rolled through the first five innings on Thursday, doing a good job of changing hitters’ eye levels by elevating his 85-88 fastball (1890-2025 rpm) and setting up his sharp breaking ball at 72-74 (2470-2650 rpm).
