6-foot-2 200-pounds. Coming off a tweaked hamstring, Elkhill was near perfect in his first start back. He allowed 2 runners on base the entire game. He had 11 strikeouts in 4 innings of work. He has a deceptive delivery, and hides the ball really well. He rarely missed his spot in the outer half fastball that was running off the plate that was near impossible to hit. He was 86-89 the entire outing, running it up to 90 a couple of times. The CH was the most impressive for him. A lefty with velo, and a plus CH will pitch for a long time. Physically he is already ready to compete at the next level. The mound presence and composure was also really impressive. His mechanics stayed consistent when he rarely worked out of the stretch. Elkhill will be an impact arm as an underclassmen when he gets on campus at South Alabama.
