8-1-2018: Developed and strong build at 6’0/205 pounds. Biggar produced the hardest contact of any hitter during the batting practice portion of the All-Star game. Hitting from a quiet, balanced stance, he creates a level swing plane and keeps his barrel behind the ball. Routinely put balls into the outfield on a line with above average bat speed. His line drives just had a different look and sound to them compared to what everyone else was doing. The offensive tools haven’t translated into a lot of production for him at Georgia yet but there’s too much raw talent to ignore. Saw limited time catching during the All-Star game itself but he flashed his arm strength with a 2.04 pop on a pitch he had to reach out of the zone for. During pre-game he was routinely between 1.95-2.00 with his pop times. Moves well behind the plate with quick actions and body control. If the hitting ability can improve at all for him this spring, Biggar will become an enticing prospect. (D Jurik)
