CLASS OF 2028

After seeing Floyd a handful of times this year, today proved why he’s been on our radar as the stuff was exactly what the Bears needed in G2. The 2FB played up today at a high velocity paired with great movement as it bore into RHH hands at 86-89. The SL and CH were used equally and worked effectively to keep hitters off balance and put them away. The SL has late HZB at 73-76 and made many go fishing in the dirt. The CH bore well and worked opposite to his SL in order to stay ahead and in control of ABs. The whippy arm allows for movement on each pitch and great action. Each outing, Floyd has impressed more and more, and there is plenty M2C for each offering as he has height to gain and strength to fill in the frame.

The arm talent is easy to see for Floyd who provided an explosive start for Prostock to open bracket play on Sunday afternoon. Athletic mover and moves really well down the mound with real arm speed and loose whip to the ¾ arm action. Fastball sat 88-89 (T90 MPH) with heavy arm-side run and life which produced tons of soft contact. Slider tunneled extremely well off the fastball at 80-82 with sharp movement and innate feel for spin. Floyd looked the part as a freshman with the Golden Bears back in the spring and the velo continues to climb with projection remaining. Chance to be a name to know in the class nationally in due time.
