Salter

Salter is "tooled up" and shows plus attributes all over the field. There are no questions with the glove and the current arm strength is there as he is upper 80's/low 90's across the diamond to the bag. The University of Georgia recruit is a 6-foot, 180-pounder showing a short, compact approach with power to both gaps. He works deep in the count and will use the entire field with two strikes. Salter batted .378 in 22 games during the shortened 2020 season with 3 HR's, 16 RBI, 22 runs scored with three stolen bases.

Salter is a hard nosed, blue collar kid and it does not take long to pick up on that. He is direct and shows good confidence in himself. At 5-foot-11 and 170-pounds he has wiry strength. In the box he is a loose rhythmic hands, and straight a away set-up, that projects well with more strength. In live game action Salter has the feel of a kid that does not give away at-bats and plays it like a one-on-one affair. He displayed the ability to recognize and react to quality secondary stuff, by keeping his hands back and ready to launch. His rangy frame gives him a chance to stay at shortstop, as a kid that makes the plays he gets to and is reliable, though he may be a better fit at second-base at the higher levels.  Salter profiles as a reliable baseball player that will give you competitive at-bats at the next level.
