Listed as a two-way player, Munhall’s strong arm behind the plate was even more so on the mound. Sturdily-built with a barrel chest on a more mature, 5-foot-11, 185-pound frame, the right-hander delivered fastballs primarily at 86-88 from a power right arm. Getting strong use of his lower-half as he drops and drives down the mound, Munhall creates a downward plane to the bottom of the strike zone releasing out of a high ¾ slot. A shorter arm stroke with quick hand speed out front allows the fastball to get on the plate in a hurry. He was able to get swings and misses on the pitch as well as a mid 70s curveball that was spun with intent, and projects as a future out pitch. Munhall’s competitiveness stood out in this outing, and he has the look of a pitcher that may be counted on to get big outs late in games at the next level. Given his potential to have two above average offerings, look for Munhall to garner attention from college coaches on the mound, and perhaps as a two-way player in the end.

5-foot-11, 185-pound right-handed hitting two-way prospect, thick frame, strong lower half. Offensively, balanced setup, relaxed look, short toe lift stride, hands load back smoothly with a cocking of the barrel to vertical, good balance. Projects to hit for power to all fields, barrel path is short to the zone, quick hands speed and strong wrists as he flicks the barrel through the zone, mostly level path, gets good extension. More power to come as he continues to physically develop. On the mound, short arm action, hides the ball to an over-the-top slot. Drop and drive delivery. Fastball sat 83-86. Curveball had good shape and depth when in the zone at 73.
