10/23/15 - Big, thick frame at 6-foot-2, 240 pounds. He sat 90-93, touching 94, while allowing an unearned run on two hits and a walk in three innings. He struck out three. Locey’s secondary stuff has a ways to go, with a slow curveball at 69-70 with 10/4 shape. He did flash a little bit of feel for a changeup, which sat in the mid 70s.

3/23/19: Physical bodied righty at 6-foot-2, 235 pounds. Showed big arm strength from a high three-quarter. Plus fastball velocity at 92-97 mph (comfort zone 94-95) which he maintained for the duration of his Sunday start. The pitch showed some cut to his glove side and tail to armside. However, he struggled to control his heavy FB and walked five in 5.1 IP. Showed good armspeed on an 87 mph changeup. Kept his 80-83 mph slider down in the zone, even bouncing several. It had early break out of the hand and played below average. Locey is an average athlete who was surprisingly quick to the plate for a pitcher his size. Overall, his plus fastball velocity and performance (4-0, 2.10 ERA, 34.1 IP, 13 H, 18 BB, 44 K) to this point in the season easily put him in consideration for Day Two. His continued performance and the amount his command and secondary offerings improve will ultimately dictate how early during Day Two he will be selected. (Seifert)
