2021 MLB Draft: Krob is an athletic, aggressive lefty with a compact and quick arm action. His fastball can bump 93, but sits mostly 88-91. He pitches from a 3/4 slot and lands slightly closed, producing good angle to the plate, especially with his well-placed four-seamer. The 6-foot-2, 205-pound also has a power slider in the low 80s with hard, late break. It's a present swing-and-miss pitch that should continue to get better over time.
2021 SPRING: This spring at TCU Krob sat 89-94 with his fastball, touching 95. His slider sat 82-85 and curve 78-81. His CH is still a work-in-progress. Krob finished the shortened 2020 season 1-0, 0.00 ERA, 7 appearances, 11.2 IP, 7 H, 4 BB, 15 SO, .179 OPPAVG.
9/15/2018: Projectable, athletic lefty with a loose arm. Comes out clean. Present FB 86-89 mph, good arm speed. More velo to come. Occasional tail. Solid spin on breaking ball. Slurve shape. 75-76 mph. Repeated and threw for strikes. High ceiling prospect. (Seifert)
Athletic, aggressive lefty with a compact and quick arm action. Krob’s fastball ranged from 89-91 in the first inning, and bumped a couple of 93s in the second before settling in 88-90 for most of his four inning, one hit allowed start on Monday. With a three-quarter slot and a slightly closed landing, he produces good angle to the plate, especially with his well-placed 4-seamer. The 6-foot-2, 205-pounder also featured a power slider in the low-80s with hard, late breaking action. It’s a present swing/miss pitch that should get even better with time. High performing lefties don’t last long in the draft and Krob is likely no exception.
6-foot-2, 195-pound left-handed hitting 2-way player. #25 ranked player in IA 2018 class. Long loose arm action, front shoulder tilt, hides baseball, comes out clean in front with good arm speed. Fastball was 84-86 mph with straight action for strikes. Curveball has above avg. spin and shape with solid depth. Changeup is solid/avg. third pitch presently. 7.33 runner. High hand set, strength in swing, short path in zone, pull approach, flashes power potential to pull-side of field, 92 mph exit velocity. Solid actions, tends to sit back, above avg. arm action with carry and accuracy, 86 mph arm strength from outfield.
6-foot-1, 190-pound left-handed pitcher. Simple repeatable arm action, some drop and drive, lands on hard closed front foot, with slight collapse on release. Easy arm action and ball jumps on hitter. Fastball has late run with solid life at 80-82 mph; touching 84 mph. Throws above avg. breaking ball with 1/7 shape, tight rotation, and is present strike out pitch at 70-73 mph. Raw mechanically, but shows easy effort, projectable velocity, and has above avg. second pitch. Strong follow in IA 2018 class.
