8/6/17- 5-foot-10, 170-pound right-handed hitting 2-way player. #14 ranked player in Iowa 2018 class. 4.5 home-to-first time. Square stance, short to contact, compact swing, aggressive approach, flashed hard line drive contact, gap to gap approach, 90 mph exit velocity. Above avg. blocker and receiver, directs traffic well during game action, deads ball and keeps in front. Quick feet with clean exchange, flashes carry to bag, occasionally short to bag on throws, 76 mph arm strength with 1.95-2.01 pop times. Versatility in field with ability to play outfield as well with solid routes, tracks fly balls well, above avg. runner, and has accurate arm on throws with 84 mph arm from outfield.
3/5/17- 5-foot-10, 170-pound right-handed hitting 2-way player. #13 ranked player in Iowa 2018 class. Consistent line drive and hard groundball contact, works middle of field, improved load with cleaner path to baseball, 91 mph exit velocity. Flexible and athletic behind plate, short repeatable levers, shows ability to receive, good sway to both sides of plate, consistently on bag with throws, 1.91-1.96 pop times with 76 mph arm strength.

12/28/16- 5-foot-10, 170-pound right-handed hitting catcher. #12 ranked player in IA 2018 class. Barreca, currently uncommitted, solidified himself as one of the better 2018’s in the state. Showed good balance in the box with quick hands and consistent hard line drive contact to middle of field. Posted a blistering 3.86 home-to-first time and recorded a personal best 92 mph exit velocity off the tee. Has versatility in the field with ability to play in the outfield was well as catch. 86 mph arm strength with accuracy and carry to the target. Shows all-around ability behind the plate and recorded 1.89-1.94 pop times with 79 mph arm strength; consistently on the bag.
2016 Future Games- 5-foot-10, 165-pound right-handed hitting catcher. Athletic compact frame. Athletic player with versatility; ran a 7.21 60, was 86 mph from the outfield, showed a 76 mph arm from behind the plate, posted a 2.01 pop time, and recorded a 87 mph exit velocity. Square stance, front heel turn trigger, no stride, lower hand slot, quick hands, slight uphill path, occasionally short through zone, consistent solid contact. Good reads in OF, has direction on throws, short arm action, accurate to bag, solid carry. Efficient mechanics behind dish, athletic at position, clean exchanges, quick release, accurate to bag, short on throws.
5/3/16- 5-foot-10, 165-pound right-handed hitting catcher/outfielder. 7.12 runner. Compact lean frame. Solid strength. Front heel turn trigger. Consistent solid contact. Mid/pull approach. 86 mph exit velocity. Flexible low set-up behind plate. Short exchanges, quick release, good direction to target, accurate arm with carry. 72 mph arm strength with 2.00 pop time. Above avg. carry on throws to catcher from outfield. Aggressive routes with fielding ability. Ability to play OF and get out from behind the dish everyday and keep bat in line-up.
3/13/16- 5-foot-10, 160-pound right-handed hitting catcher/outfielder. 7.18 60 time. Square stance with smaller inverted C load. Strength in bat has increased. Occasionally barrel leaves zone early. Shows gap to gap approach. 86 mph exit velocity off tee. Quick feet with clean exchanges behind the plate. Compact movements and repeats well. Shows ability to receive. Has solid flexibility. Solid carry, very accurate to bag, with a 2.03 pop time and 72 mph arm strength. Above avg. carry on throws to catcher from outfield at 86 mph. Aggressive routes with fielding ability. Ability to play OF and get out from behind the dish everyday and keep bat in line-up.
8/4/15- 5-foot-10, 155-pound right-handed hitting catcher. Ran 7.09 60. Deeper load. Front heel turn trigger with no stride. At times load was inconsistent/ hurried at this event. Flashes solid contact to gaps with 83 mph exit velocity off tee. Good receiving skills. Flexible behind the plate with quickness. Solid blocker. Exchanges are quick and clean. Very good at staying low with quality direction to second base. Throws were consistently on bag with 72 mph arm strength and 2.09 pop time.
Summer Preseason I.D.- May 2015
Barreca is a freshman from North Scott HS. 5-foot-10, 155-pounds. Average build that will continue to improve and add strength. Ran a 7.35 60 at this event. Slightly closed stance. Short inverted C load. Slight uphill path to contact. Shows balance in swing and solid hand-eye coordination. Used middle of field with overall solid contact. 82 mph exit velocity off tee. Has made significant improvements defensively since December. Catch and throw mechanics are short, crisp, and clean. Very good accuracy to bag with pop times in 2.1-2.12 range. Arm strength was 72 mph. Throws show carry and are on-line and straight.
Quad City Open- Dec. 2014
5-foot-8, 150-pound right-handed hitting catcher. 7.57 60 time. Crouched stance with good balance. Short consistent load and short to contact. Slight uphill swing plane through contact. 80 mph exit velocity off tee. Qualiy set-up behind plate. Feet and exchange are good for 2018 grad. Most throws on bag. Proper mechanics in blocking. 70 mph arm strength to second base with pop times in 2.19-2.4 range.
