Lake Land Scout Day: Three-quarter slot righty with 83-84 mph fastball and feel for 75-76 mph breaker. Rushes lower half in delivery, but arm action is short in back and arm is quick enough to catch up. Mixed firm 81-82 mph changeup as third pitch. All pitches tunneled well from near identical release point. Looks to be more in there velo-wise.
Six-foot, 185 pound senior righthander works average effort down the mound, good rhythm and pace to release. Front foot lands slightly closed, struggles to get through front side and finish at times. Long arm swing, small wrap in the back, average arm speed. Fastball sat 79-81, thrown with good command and showed late run arm side, located both sides of plate for strike. Slide steps, quick to the plate out of stretch. Breaking ball was loose, popped out of hand at times and backed up, threw both slider 68-72 and curveball 64-68, slider had better life. Changeup was spiked and firm, 71-74.
