Colton Shirley: SS, (2020) Lapel, IN. 6-foot-1, 180-pound athletic frame. Displayed speed and athleticism at the event, recording a 60 time of 6.97. At the plate, Shirley's best exit velocity was 85 mph. Track Man Exit Velo 91.48. Begins in a balanced stance with a quick load, then uses Short swing stride to start his swing. Found some barrels in his round. While in the infield, registered his best throw across the diamond at 81 mph; showed a quick clean exchange and athletic rhythmic footwork. He fielded the ball out front with athletic movement laterally. Had a ¾ slot with a loose arm action.
2/16/2019: Colton Shirley, SS, Lapel HS, 2020, 6 foot 1, 170 pounds, ran a 7.14 and has long lean projectable body that will continue to fill out. Hits from the left side and has late separation move with good barrel angle. Hands work well through zone. Tries to work too fast defensively and needs keep his pace. Has skill level and body to project future success as he matures and his measurables should climb shortly.
