2017 Spring Scout Blog:  The senior SS/RHP sat 83-85 with the fastball, touching 86 a couple times. Both two/four seam fastballs had good life with command to both sides of the plate. High 3/4 arm slot, short quick arm action to the plate. Tendency to wrap on the breaking ball. Breaking ball was 67 mph, good when hand was on top and pulled down out front. Had tendency to get underneath and release breaking ball up, stayed up in zone. Changeup had good arm side fade at 74-75 mph. High leg kick up into the top of windup, drop and drive delivery with shoulders getting slightly uphill down the mound. Competed on the mound with good feel. Athletic on the mound and in the batters box. Leadoff hitter with a line drive approach and compact swing. Hits from wide, slightly open base. Uses a small leg kick to load weight/hands back. Weight has tendency to jump back onto the front side through the swing. Above average bat speed through the zone. Good base runner with average speed and good instincts. IU-Southeast commit.  

2/20/16: 5-foot-11, 165 pounder ran a 7.07-60 and was 84 across the diamond from a high 3/4 arm action.  Has accuracy with some carry. Showcased soft hands with good feet.  Plays through the ball. At the plate hits from an open setup.  Uses a leg kick, tendency to dive during the stride.  Average balance.  Shows above average bat speed, early rhythm. Recorded a high exit velo of 85. PITCHING- pitches from a high ¾ slot, short arm action.  Average arm speed.  Regular effort with some rhythm in the delivery.  Lands closed with an athletic finish.  Fastball was 79-82 for a strike.  Breaking ball was 65-67.  Showed good feel for his changeup at 72-74   

5/5/15 GAME NOTES:

Athletic SS/P stands 5'10 and about 150 pounds plays with a lot of confidence and drive. Threw 6+ innings before taking the field in the bottom of the seventh. Has a quick 3/4 delivery with regular effort and slightly uphill shoulders. Lands square with some recoil on the finish. Fastball was 82-83 touching 85 with good sink and consistency. Breaking ball had an 11/5 shape with gradual break and elevated late in the game. Sat 64-65 and forced some awkward swings when down. Changeup flashed some impressive down movement at times with velo around 69-72, but when elevated was hit hard. At the plate showed a level swing plane and some carry on line drives to outfield.
