The most dominant stint amongst '27s came from RHP Harper Sturtsman (Manchester). Holding a heavy-set, 6-foot-2, 260 pound frame, Sturtsman backspun heaters from a semi-stab arm action at 84-87 with a true ride profile that helped him rack up whiffs at the top of the zone. His 72-75 CB and 78-81 CH tunneled well off the ride FB and he showed well-above average control for all three pitches. The ability to command multiple pitches establishes a safe floor here, and led to big success at this event.

Sturdy, massive, 6-foot-2, 260 pounder w arm strength and present above average control & below-moderate intent. Simple mover w strength in the lower-half, repeats. Fast takeaway as the arm gets to a stab on the backside with slightly uphill shoulders as he tucks the front-side and gets to an OTT slot. The fastball plays with big carry at 85-87 & his top-down 74-75 curveball plays well with it. The changeup plays in the mid-upper-70s & is a fringe average pitch now. There is abv avg control present with two abv avg pitches that allows for starters' upside.

Sturtsman is a sturdy, 6-foot-2, 260 pounder with a chance to transform into a real power arm. There is present strength in the lower half, along with easy arm strength, that helped him reach 88 mph on his best bullet. The arm works in a clean, uninterrupted fashion to an over-the-top slot, keeping the ball moving with above average arm speed. The fastball plays with significant carry, averaging 20.9" of IVB that should allow his riding heater to miss bats. Sturtsman showed two above average breaking balls, both working in the low-to-mid 70s, with sweeping shape to the slider and two-plane shape to the curveball. He showed a 75-77 mph changeup, though his other three offerings are a bit ahead at the moment. There are plenty of present traits to like with the strong-armed righty that fills the zone at an above average clip.
