3B/2B Garrity Ullom (North Central) took some of my favorite swings of any uncommitted bat at the All-State. Starting with high hands and using a slow, controlled load, Ullom strides with control before delivering a heavy barrel through the hitting zone with present bat speed. The bat path is ideal, and allowed him to produce an exit velocity of 103.6 mph, averaging 92.3 mph, with four of his ten batted balls leaving the bat at 100+. Ullom worked through the middle of the field during batting practice, which should translate to in-game success.

Hit: RHH. Starts in a slightly open stance and uses a toe tap stride paired w/ small load of the hands. Pulls the barrel vetically to trigger the swing. Clean bat path that matches plane, working slightly uphill. Produces very good bat speed & has gap-to-gap strength.
Power: 96 max exit velocity, averaged 84.5 mph. 277' max distance.
Arm: RH. INF-81 mph. Short arm action from a H 3/4 slot.
Defense: Abv-avg footwork, flashes ability to play downhill. Hands are sure w/ a clean exchange. Overall actions are fundamental.
ATH: 7.28 runner in the 60. 1.88 in the 10 yard split.
