6/25/14: 6-foot-3, 175 pound righty was up to 85 with his fastball. Long arm action from a 3/4 slot with average arm speed.  Breaking ball was 67-69.  Possesses good rhythm and direction.  Keeps the ball in the zone.   

2/22/14: 6-foot-3, 175 pound junior continues to impress with each event he attends.  Throws from an over the top-high 3/4 slot with quick arm speed from a drop and drive delivery. Schmidt sat 83-86 with his fastball that showcased arm side run.  Throws an 11/5 breaking ball at 71-73 mph with late break.  Changeup sat 75-77 mph with good sink action.  Possesses good feel for all three pitches.     

10/19/13: 6-foot-3, 175 pound junior has a lean frame with long levers.  At the plate the LHH starts with his back knee over his foot in a crouch position.  From there he is short and compact.  Stays inside the ball.  Average bat speed.  Gets to extension.  From the OF remains tall through his throws from a ¾ arm action at 80 mph.  Fields it well with a  clean exchange.  Interesting follow in the 2015 class.  Ran a 7.58 60. 
On the mound throws from a high ¾ arm slot.  Simple delivery with a quick arm.  A little stiff with his front leg throughout his delivery.  Fastball was up to 84 mph with good run.  Breaking ball shows tight spin at a 10/4 action; above average pitch.  Changeup is inconsistent at 76-80. Schmidt is a high follow in the 2015 class with good projectability.
