9/24/16: The 6-foot 190 pound right-handed pitcher sat 78-80 with the fastball while showing command to both sides of the plate.  Delivery has a short, loose arm action with smooth rhythm down the hill.  Breaking ball has 11/5 shape and late break.  Offensively, bat speed is above average with slight lift at contact.  Good barrel awareness at the plate.  Defensively, Cochrum plays thru the ball well up the middle.  Hands are soft with a quick transfer and release.  Throws were accurate and topped at 79mph.  

1/24/16 - Max FB: 79, FB: 75-79, CB: 59-66, CH: 55-60
6-foot, 180-pound RHP uses long arm action and works through a high-3/4 slot with regular effort, arm works cleanly, uses leverage well  and showed the ability to pound the zone with all pitches, fastball is mostly straight, curveball showed sharp 11/5 action and is a solid pitch, slows arm some on changeup but does locate it in the strike zone with some tumbling action. Cochrum’s fastball velocity represented a significant increase since we last saw him. As a position player, hits from a slightly open stance and squares up with a short stride, uses strong lower half well and maintains good balance through contact, good strength in swing, path works uphill at times, creates lift at contact and shows good power as the ball jumps off his barrel with some carry, generates good bat speed, 85 mph exit velocity off the tee, ran 4.82 down the line. Shows solid defensive actions with sure hands, gets rid of the ball with a quick exchange and high-3/4 release, mostly accurate throws across the diamond with a big jump in arm strength from previous event at 78 mph.

7/23/14 - 6-foot, 170-pound prospect uses long arm action through a high ¾ arm slot, good tempo in delivery with regular effort, arm is loose and works well, fastball showed occasional cutting action and sat 72-74 mph, showed good command of his 60-63 mph curveball with 11/5 action, also throws a 67 mph slider with sharper break and a 63 mph changeup that is straight.  As a position player, ran a 7.76 60 yard dash and showed some present bat speed for young prospect with 80 mph tee exit velocity, hits from an open stance with a medium length stride, short path to the ball with a pull approach, line drive type hitter.  Defensively, has soft hands and a quick exchange, gets rid of the ball with short arm action, shows developing arm at 68 mph across the infield, went 0-for-4 in game play hitting the ball hard on a few occasions.
