Despite being a freshman, Phillips put together the most impressive round of BP on the day. The physical left-handed hitter gives off middle-of-the-order, impact type of vibes at the plate. The 6-foot-2, 205-pound, wide-shouldered freshman, repeated his swing and was all over the barrel throughout while elevating hard and loud contact to the pull-side. Stays short, compact and on-plane with balance and intent throughout. Led the event with a 90.6 mph average exit velocity, as well as a max of 97.6. He also launched his furthest batted ball 367’ and averaged 74 mph average bat speed. Phillps also ran a 6.98 60 and topped at 80 mph from the outfield.

Body: 6-2, 205-pounds. Athletic build w/some strength
Hit: LHH. Wide balanced stance. Small hover type stride paired with a compact upper body load. Swing plane works uphill with bat speed allowing for power projection 
Power: 96 max exit velocity, averaged 92.4 mph. 178' max distance. 
Arm: RH. INF-72 mph.Short arm action from an OTT slot
Defense: Very quick foot moving off the bag, good athleticism for a 1B - shows soft hands and a quick exchange.
Run: 7.21 runner in the 60.

Body: 6-foot-2, 185-pound lean frame.

Hit: (LHH) Solid. Began in an athletic tall stance with a compact low load, then used a leg kick. Above average bat speed. Balanced back foot finish, inside-out swing. Line drive approach. 

Power: 90 mph exit velocity, average 81.6 mph. 67.7 mph bat speed average. 22.1 mph hand speed average.

Defense:  (IF) Sure hands, average footwork, fluid exchange. Confident. (OF) Consistent hands, consistent average footwork, lengthy exchange. Capable.  Laterally, his movements were late. 

Arm: 70 mph infield velocity. 73 mph outfield velocity. Loose arm action, an-over-the-top slot, decent accuracy. 

Speed: 7.15 (60-yard).
