6/11/19

6-foot-3, 225-pound 1B / RHP. At the plate, starts with a balanced stance, slightly open with his hands low in front of his body; uses a toe tap for a timing; has a level swing path and a high, two-handed finish; 86 mph exit velocity. In the field, has good turns when he gets in position; throws with accuracy; 77 mph position velocity. On the mound, uses his body well to generate power; has a 3/4 arm slot; stays on top of most pitches; 78-80 mph FB with a max of 82. Kept hitters off balance with off speed pitches; 67-70 mph CB; 74 mph CH. Recorded a 60 time of 7.93.

1/6/2019: Joel Archer, 1B/ RHP, Floyd Central HS, 2020, 6 foot 3, 225 pounds, Physical Corner/ Pitcher body, frame allows to add strength easily.  Solid balance and strength in swing with a max exit velocity of 86 mph. Joel is an average defender at 1B with plenty of bat potential. On the mound Joel was 82-84 mph with his fastball from a high ¾ slot. Showed better feel for his curveball at 70-73 mph than he did for his changeup at 71-72. Curveball had pretty good 11/5 shape, and has makings of a good pitch down the road.
