2017 Spring Scout Blog:  Lipscomb signee.  6-foot-7, 200 plus pound left-handed pitcher showed a velocity bump since the last time we saw him.  Habegger sat 86-88, bumping 89 twice in his two innings of relief.  Often the Greyhounds #2 starter, he came in down 3-2 to the Panthers before the offense put up 7 in bottom 6.  Habegger received the win on a 2 strikeout, 1 walk, 1 hit outing.  Breaking ball has sweeping action at 70-73 with some feel.  Uses the slider to backfoot right-handed hitters.  Late running fastball gives him a tough two pitch combination.  Throws from a 3/4 slot with short, stiff arm action.  High effort down the mound, controlled well.  Lands squared, finishes upright with back leg whip.

2/22/14: 6-foot-4, 170 pound freshman is tall and lanky.  In the field possesses average hands.  Feet are slow but plays through the baseball well.  Across the diamond was 76 mph. At the plate the LHH starts open and uses a toe drag.  Never closes the front foot.  Swing plane is uphill.  On the mound is very projectable with his long, lanky frame.  Pitches from a 3/4-high 3/4 slot with average arm speed.  Arm action is long.  Lands open.  Fastball shows run at 77-81 mph.
