7/10/18 - Vanderbilt University commit. 6-foot-3, 200-pound, strong, durable, highly-athletic build, right-handed pitcher. One of the top 2019 arms in the Midwest and showed why at the event. Struck out the side in his scoreless inning of work. Tall and fall delivery, works simple, repeatable and with extreme ease. Long, loose, quick arm action from a high ¾ slot. Fastball comes out of the hand with ease, late jump and life through the zone, gets swings and misses above the belt, sat 89-91 mph, touched 92. Curveball, feel, late bite and depth, worked between 10/4 and 11/5, 74-77 mph. Changeup, only saw one at 77 mph. High-follow draft prospect for 2019.

4/26/18: The #2 ranked player in the 2019 Indiana class had another dominant performance on the mound, throwing 6 IP, giving up 3 H's, striking out 12 hitters and walking 2. The 6-foot-3, 185 pound Vanderbilt commit continues to impress on the mound, working easy arm action that is loose and athletic, delivery is clean and repeatable, works with good pace and direction down the mound. Fastball was 89-91 in the first inning, touching a 92 a couple times in the second. Fastball has arm side life and command to both sides of the plate. Ball jumps on hitters, used the fastball majority of the night to put away hitters outer half or above the hands. Produced a lot of weak contact, ground ball/fly ball outs. Settled in after the 2nd at 87-89, held velo well for 6 innings. Breaking ball was sharp early with downward action, swing and miss pitch at 76-77, threw a couple a 78 with more side to side slider action. Competes and attacks with fastball, secondary pitches will need to continue to develop with command. Big game pitcher with high ceiling on the mound, more secondary pitch development and velocity to come. Went 1-for-3 at the plate, hit 3rd in the lineup, hit pull side 2 RBI double in second at-bat. Widened out the lower half, minimal load to swing, hands work to the baseball, strong lower half, gap to gap line drive approach.

6/22/17: Uncommitted. 6-foot-2, 170-pound two-way prospect, athletic build with proportional strength. Legitimate prospect both as a right-handed pitcher and as a left-handed hitting infielder. On the mound, features highly athletic, easy and repeatable delivery. Throws high volume of strikes, works fast and confidently. Fastball is easy out of the hand, 85-87 mph, plenty more in the tank, it seems. Pitches to both sides of the plate. Everything works free and easily, the arm action is loose and athletic out of a high-3/4 window with minimal effort. Overall high-level pitching prospect. Offensively, the hands and swing work with rhythm, extremely balanced and confident in the box.

2017 Spring Scout Blog:
The 6'3", 170 pound sophomore was impressive on the mound. The uncommitted top-10, 2019 prospect sat 86-87 with the fastball, before bumping a couple up to 88-89 early in the game. Fastball was heavy and firm to the outer half of the plate, displaying good command and feel on the mound. Delivery is repeatable, with easy effort down the mound, landing slightly closed. Clean, athletic arm swing with the ball jumping out of the hand at high 3/4 arm slot. Breaking ball was plus pitch at times with tight spin and hard downward 11/5 bite at 72-73 mph. Attacked hitters with fastball in and out. At one point retired 11 in a row, finished the game throwing 6.2 innings, giving up 1 ER on 6 hits and striking out 11. Held velo throughout, throwing 85-86 in last inning. Swing is currently behind the arm, but hits from an athletic setup from the left side, starting slightly open. Has rhythm with the hands, loads with a leg lift up to push the hands back into launch position. Creates good separation. Hands got pushed a little low and buried back, creating swing to get long at times. Jumped a little onto the front side causing to be late on velo. Shortened hand path last at bat and was on time to drive a ball hard to RCF. Has more power in the swing and will develop over time with more strength and reps. High follow in the 2019 class that has a chance of being a 2-way prospect at the next level.

4/8/17 Game Notes:
Uncommitted. Ranked No. 5 in Indiana’s 2019 class. Athletic, rangy 6-foot-3, 170-pound left-hand hitting infielder. Starting shortstop and three-hole hitter for No. 15 Andrean as a sophomore. Left-hand hitter, tall set-up, smooth load, medium leg lift stride, generates bat speed. Showed a short path to the ball, rare for a younger player with long arms. Drove the ball over the right-fielders head for a double in his second at bat and flattened the ball out in the middle of the field for a hard ground out in his next at bat. Ball comes off bat well.  Showed easy, athletic actions and arm looseness during pre-game infield, wasn’t challenged to make a play to show arm strength in pre-game or early in the game. We’ve yet to see Doolin pitch, however he did toss six innings on Friday to pick up the win in Andrean's 6-1 win over No. 2 Lake Central. Projectable class of 2019 left-hand hitting infield prospect.

11/10/19: Strong bodied freshman RHP Michael Doolin worked two perfect innings, filling up the strike zone with an easy 88-90 mph fastball and consistently repeating his delivery. He struck three of the six batters he faced.
