5-foot-9, 140-pound frame, Hodnett showed all his tools in Friday night's game. The right-handed batter went 1-for-3 on the day including a line drive single. Hitting in the two-hole Hodnett stood in a wide spread out stance, followed by a simple quick swing that gets the barrel to the ball. While he may have not had his best game with the bat, where he really impressed was at shortstop. Hodnett put together one of the best defensive performances of the day, showcasing his range, footwork, hands, and arm talent. The rangy defender made a pair of difficult plays look easy, one including a sliding backhand grab followed by a strong throw to 1st. He showed the ability to be quick with his hands and ability to have strong on-target throws from a range of arm slots. The defensive abilities are present and as Hodnett continues to grow he will be a name to watch in the 2027 class.
